Abstract

|
Studies on the behaviour of Culex tritaenior hynchus summorosus, the confirmed vector of Japanese encephalitis were carried out in two selected areas, one in Kobu Myon, Chongup Gun, Cholla Pukdo, the JE endemic area and the other in Jinbo Myon, Chongsong Gun, Kyongsang Pukdo, non JE endemic area, from March 1967 to Feburuary 1968.
Seasonal prevalence and densities, breeding places, daytime and nighttime resting place indoors and outdoors, feeding habits including Human-viting rate, biting period and feeding places, longevity of female mosquitoes by determination of parous rate, hibernation palces and JE virus isolation from operiodically collected Culex tritaeniorhyuchus summorosus were investigated during the study period.
